For about 4 years around the age of 40, we’re confronted by the transit of Neptune squaring natal Neptune. One of several “midlife crisis” transits, this can be a time when things that used to be meaningful cease to be, truths we thought we held dissolve, and clarity we once had disappears. The inner changes we experience can impact all facets of life. Depression, inexplicable yearning, aimlessness, and escapism are among the many symptoms of this transit. But the illusive qualities of Neptune also offer the potential for long-term illumination — if we do our Neptunian inner work.

In this heart-centered talk, Matthew will provide examples and reflections from his clinical practice about the magnificent, soul-level growth that can be achieved under the influence of the most ambiguous planet. He will also draw implications for other Neptune transits that can occur at any stage of life as well as relevant overlaps with the Uranus Opposition and Pluto Square transits that often coincide with Neptune Square Neptune.
